Position Overview:
LifeFormations is a creative fabrication and animatronics studio delivering custom-built experiences for clients around the world. Our work appears in leading theme parks, museums, and immersive environments, where every project is unique.
We are seeking a Costuming Associate to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working beyond traditional garment design, creating custom costumes for non-standard, sculpted, and animatronic figures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate custom costume pieces, including mockups, final garments, and alterations.
- Create and modify patterns for non-traditional forms.
- Partner with the Costume Director to achieve fit, function, and creative intent.
- Support digital patterning and print development (CLO, Adobe).
- Collaborate with production teams to meet project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Fashion, Costume, or Apparel Design, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with CLO and Adobe (preferred).
- Strong skills in draping, pattern drafting, and garment construction.
- Proficient in sewing (machine and hand).
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with fur work, hair punching, or specialty surface treatments.
- Background in theatrical, creature, or character-based costuming.
- Experience working on non-traditional forms.
